The able folks from Hanneman and Fineis Concrete Construction — Mark, Bill, Jason, Dean and Joe — poured the cement floor today. This task was complicated because the crawlspace has only one access area. Also, insulation along the perimeter needed to be dealt with. Scheduling issues and inclement weather a few weeks ago prevented this from taking place before the first floor was installed. When work began this morning, the crawlspace was cool and comfortable, but by late afternoon, due to the exothermic curing of the concrete and hours of demanding manual work, it was very warm.
The framing crew — Matt, Bill and Thomas — continued with the installation of vertical TJI trusses outside of the air barrier.
